Feature story: Fresh fruit market feels the squeeze
Farmers markets are big business, spilling over in downtown spaces from Redwood City to Sunnyvale and beyond. But not in East Palo Alto. There, despite an arguably greater need for residents to have access to fresh vegetables and fruit, the city's fledgling East Palo Alto Community Farmers' Market is close to shutting down after only a two-year run. Dr. Phil show on teen pressure airs tonight
A Dr. Phil television episode entitled "Teens Under Pressure," for which researchers conducted interviews in Palo Alto, will air tonight at 8 pm. on KRON Channel 4. It was not clear whether Palo Alto students or parents would appear on the show.

It has been a big basketball week for the Ogwumike family of Cypress, Texas. On Wednesday, Cy-Fair High senior Chiney Ogwumike was named winner of the 2010 Morgan Wootten (McDonald's) Player of the Year Award as the top female in the nation. On Thursday, older sister Nnemkadi, a sophomore at Stanford, was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year in women's basketball.
