Mary Jane Moffat, a resident of Los Altos and acclaimed author, teacher and lecturer, died May 30. The Palo Alto Writers' Conference will have a memorial tribute in her honor Tuesday, June 15, at 7:15 p.m. at Haymarket Theatre, Palo Alto High School, 50 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto. The cost to attend is $6 and the tribute is open to the public.

Sheila M. Tyson, a 51-year resident of Palo Alto, died June 3. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 670 East Meadow Drive, Palo Alto. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made in her name to a hospice and/or charity of choice.
