CITY: *Take away most expensive health care plan. *New employees have to work 10 years before city pays for retirement benefits. *Mandatory three-day furlough.
UNION: *6 percent pay increase. *Better retirement plan. *Long-time temporary employees given benefits. Where they ended

CITY: *Health care plan still available, with incentives to get workers to switch. *New employees have to work for 10 years before getting retirement benefits paid for, starting in January. *Voluntary furlough, expected to save equivalent amount of money.
UNION: *No pay increase in year one, 4 percent in year two (with 1 percent of that starting in January). *No better retirement plan. *Details regarding benefits for long-time temporary employees will be negotiated during year.
